This is the Gratitude Page!
It's beyond question that any of what we do would happen without the support of Vancouver's finest talent, both emerging and established. Thank you to all of the writers, actors, panelists, and guests who have helped make Final Draught a success.Brief History of Final Draught
Final Draught was born in the Autumn of 2002 from a conversation bemoaning the fact that, with the closing of the Cold Reading Series at the Anza Club, a huge gap was formed in the winter of the year. "What a drag," it was correctly posited, “That there wasn't a regular meeting place for actors and writers and associated artisans.” A venue was found and a few ideas developed to set Final Draught apart from it's fellows (The Cold Reading Series and Alibi Unplugged) and the news went out. It was quickly discovered that Novus Theatre was madly planning a similar event, and that Final Draught had them trumped. So, Final Draught and Novus joined forces. Novus Theatre became the producer of Final Draught and that is how the West End was won. The 2002 (Founding) Producing Team was Kennedy Goodkey, Maryth Gilroy, Matthew Harrison, Peter New.
In 2003, Final Draught relocated to new digs - specifically the Cellar of Doolin's Irish Pub. Season's 2, 3 & 4 (2003 - 2006) took place at The Cellar. During this time Jason Broadfoot, Bob Hume, Samantha Banton, Jeannette Choueiri, Jason Goode and T Weir joined the Final Draught Producing Team and we said goodbye to some of the founding producers.
In Fall Of 2006 we moved to our new home - "The Other Space" (Formerly the Restaurant at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre) Above the Media Club at West Georgia and Cambie. A great space for us to grow. Final Draught's Current 2006/2007 Producing Team is Jason Broadoot, Maryth Gilroy, John Prowse, Bronwen Smith.
