Guides For Actors

Final Draught creates a safe and fun environment in which actors showcase their talents by reading scripts and screenplays written by la creme de la creme of Vancouver's writing community.

How to Take Part In The Readings

Actors interested in reading scripts at Final Draught should attend the event and introduce themselves to one of the presenters at the casting table as soon as they arrive. (Casting Starts at 7:10 PM)

Available roles are cast on a first come, first served basis. The majority of roles are cold cast on the night, but the writer's opinions and input into the casting process must be considered.

Any actor may ask to be included, but there are limited roles available, and frequent attendees will obviously have a better chance of being cast. If you are not picked the first time you attend, please come again. Be persistent, but polite.

If you are cast in a role, remember that these reads are also performances. Make clear choices. Project. Listen (even when you aren’t speaking). Have fun.
